Canoeing/Kayaking
The Manos, the waterbody in front of our property, offers a wonderful opportunity to make use of our in-house canoes, kayaks, and rowing boat—and you don’t need prior experience to enjoy them. For the more adventurous, the waterbody connects to the Mandovi River, offering a chance to visit the famous Chorao Bird Sanctuary en route or explore the neighboring village of Aldona. A fascinating aspect of these backwaters is the resident bird species and the lush mangrove forests that thrive along their edges.
Cycling
The winding roads in the neighbourhood, leading to the village and beyond, are considerably quiet due to negligible traffic and very conducive to exploratory cycling. Not only do you get a dose of aerobic exercise, it’s also a wonderful opportunity to watch life go by in a typical Goan village.
Fishing
Take a local bamboo fishing line and head down to the river to spend some relaxing time. If you are lucky you might even catch a fish
Bird Watching
Bring a pair of binoculars, and you might just turn into a birdwatcher, given the sheer number of avian species that flock to the area. You name it—Golden Oriole, Lapwing, Drongo, several species of Sunbird, Kingfisher, and the remarkable Hornbill. Waterbirds that visit the nearby waterbody include Cormorants, Egrets, Ducks, and Storks.

You can walk along the small, interesting roads around the village and admire the beautiful houses along the way or venture out into the surrounding nature on narrow paths. There's a large hill nearby that offers a stunning view—and during the monsoon, you might even see flocks of peacocks dancing in the lush greenery.

Discovering Otter Habitats with Wild Otters
We have collaborated with our friends at Wild Otters to provide some outdoor activities that introduce you to the wonderful and secretive world of Goa’s otters. A guided walk through the mangroves on the close-by island of Chorao is a perfect introduction to the otter’s habitat, while a guided kayaking journey along the serene and picturesque Mandovi river offers more in-depth exploration and maybe even the chance of a sighting! We also run a kayak-building workshop using raw, waste materials which we then test-ride in the river. Goa has two species of otters, both threatened. Learning about their behavior and social structure is fascinating and helps contribute to the conservation of their beautiful habitat.
